Celebrating 125 Years of Community & Connection

From a historic gift by Senator Ericson in 1901 to the vibrant community hub of 2026, the Ericson Public Library has spent 125 years evolving alongside the city of Boone. We’re marking this milestone with a year of special events, and you’re invited!

  • A Journey Through Time: Starting in May, we’re dedicating each month to a different 25-year era of our history.

  • Outdoor Journaling: Join our "Journaling Place in Boone County" series to explore local ecology and history through art (sponsored by the Leonard Good Trust and the Friends of the Library).

  • The Big Celebration: Save the date for a full week of festivities starting September 28th, leading up to our official anniversary on October 2nd.

  • View the Online Photo Exhibit

Each month highlights a new chapter of our history:

May (1901–1926)

June (1926–1951)

August (1951–1976)

September (1976–2001)

October (2001–2026)

There are countless ways to connect with our shared heritage, so join us while we celebrate over this six-month period!

Special thanks to the Leonard Good Trust and the Friends of the Ericson Public Library for funding our six-month series of sessions.
