Our 2026 Online Summer Reading Program
Sign up through Beanstack! OR Register online and pick up a paper log!
All ages can decide which option works best for you. Parents if you have a family you want to participate and track, you will want to decide which method you will want to use for your entire family. You won't be able to do the app with one child and log for other.
Our program runs from Monday, June 1 through Saturday, July 25. Our community goal this summer is 500,000 minutes of reading and attendance at programs and completing fun activities! We can do it!

Ericson Public Library 2026 Children's Summer Reading Program
Welcome to the Children's Summer Reading program. This program is open to infants through children going into fourth grade in the fall. You will have to choose between the paper option or the Beanstack (app) option. Once registered, each child will receive a free book from the book cart as a special thanks from Friends of Ericson Public Library. The following will provide instructions for each option.
Option #1: Beanstack: If you have not installed the app, you will need to download the app BEANSTACK from your app store. You will use this app to track both minutes read and activity badges. Your child will earn logging badges for every 20 minutes read to or they read on their own.
Option # 2: Paper Option: Register Online and pick up your bookmark at the Children's Department desk. You or your child will color in a circle for each 20 minutes the child is read to or reads.
Children will earn the following weekly incentives:
- 1 Free book from Children’s Department book cart
- Hy-Vee donut certificate
- Blank Park Zoo pass
- Dutch Oven Bakery donut certificate
- Tickets for Scenic Valley Railroad ride(for immediate family members only)
- Tickets for a I-Cubs game (for immediate family members only) You will receive an email to request tickets for your immediate family during the week of July 13, make sure to check your email and junk folders!
- Taco Johns free taco certificate
- The Book Shoppe certificate for free book under $7.00
- 1 End-of-SRP Pool Party. All participants welcome, no pass required. (Pool Party is July 23 at 9:30am)
TWEENS & TEENS (Grades 5-12)

Ericson Public Library 2026 Tweens & Teens Summer Reading Program
Grades 5th - 12th, based on the grade you will enter in the fall.
PLANT A SEED & READ this summer at Ericson Pubic Library! You can earn badges by logging reading minutes and for each 3 hours of reading you log, you will earn tickets which you will enter in the end of program prize drawings. The more tickets you earn, the greater your chances of winning a wonderful prize basket or gift cards from Amazon, Walmart & Target! You get to choose which drawings to place your tickets into! As well, while participating you will unlock prizes that include: a free donut from Dutch Oven Bakery, a special drink from The Daily Boss, a Taco from Taco John's & more!
There are also multiple activity badges for attending programs & all of these badges earn you additional prize tickets.
Use Beanstack or Register Online and pick up a log at the Main floor desk or Children's desk.
Just for signing up you get to pick a FREE book from a designated book selection!
You can read anything: i.e. books, Ebooks, magazines, newspapers, comics, manga, the internet (or listen to audiobooks) and log those minutes!

Ericson Public Library 2026 Adult Summer Reading Program
Adults ages 18-100+

The Roman emperor, Marcus Aurelius, noted the simple idea that change is constant and everything begins as a seed of what comes next.
Reading follows the same logic. Whether you’re exploring a new idea, sharpening a skill, appreciating a different perspective, or exploring our world, you nurture a seed of interest and build a new understanding. This summer, we invite you to plant seeds of change. Pick up a book. Learn a new skill. Learn about our world. Follow your curiosity and see where it leads. Plant a seed, read!
Registration for the Summer Reading Program begins after Memorial Day on May 26th. Track the number of books read and activities with the Beanstack app or a paper log. Register through Beanstack, an Online Form, or in person at the Main Floor Desk of the library. When you sign up, select a free book courtesy of the Friends of the Ericson Public Library. Adults can earn various incentives thanks to generous local donors, and earn badges for two Adult Fun Raffles, and a Grand Prize Raffle.
