Teacher Checkout Policy
Teachers may check out items for 28 days and renew items that are not on hold for an additional 14 days. If you are checking out with an organization account (such as preschool or daycare), we request that each classroom have its own card.
You may renew materials in person, by
telephone, or from our website’s “Catalog and Library Account” button. To log in to your account, enter your library card number and your password (usually the first four letters of your last name in capital letters).
You may request materials even if you don’t know what specific items you want. For example, you can let the Children’s Department staff know you need resources about lemurs or the water cycle. We will do our best to find you multiple resources. Requests may be placed in person, by telephone, or from our website. When the items are available you will be notified by your preferred notification method. You will have two business days to pick up the items, we can send items to public schools on the school van.
The Boone school van delivers items from our public library to/from the public schools on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is the responsibility of each teacher who can not use the school van service to pick up items from and return items to the library.
You may return materials at any circulation desk. Books and magazines may be returned in the outside book return. Other materials must be brought into the library to avoid damage from the outside book return.
